Getting around the airport by car
Santorini Airport (JTR) is small, with one terminal and one arrivals hall. In summer it handles flights from most of Europe, and when several land within the same half hour the hall fills, the baggage belt slows and the taxi rank outside empties within minutes. Pre-booking is not a luxury here; it is how you avoid an hour on the pavement.
The airport sits on the east side of the island near Monolithos, at sea level. Every hotel is uphill from here. Fira is a 10 minute drive across the middle of the island, Imerovigli a few minutes beyond it, and Oia about 20 minutes along the caldera road. The beach resorts of Kamari and Perissa are on the same side as the airport and take 10 and 15 minutes.
Pickups work the same at any hour. The driver checks your flight, waits at the exit from the baggage area with a name sign, and walks with you to the car. The car is a short walk from the hall, not across a car park. Child seats are fitted before the driver leaves for the airport, so ask for them when you book.
For the ride back, give us the departure time and we set the pickup: about 10 minutes from Fira and 20 from Oia, plus whatever check-in time your airline asks for. The driver drops you at the departures entrance.

Good to know
- Book the pickup for the landing time, not the boarding time. The driver follows the flight, so an early or late arrival changes nothing.
- The taxi rank outside the terminal empties fast when two flights land together. A pre-booked driver with your name skips the queue.
- Night arrivals cost the same as daytime ones. The island's buses stop in the evening, so a booked car is the easy way in after dark.
- Tell us the number of suitcases when you book. Two people with two big cases fit the saloon; a family with a pram is better in the van.

How far is the airport from Fira and Oia?
Fira is 8 km and about 10 minutes away. Oia is 17 km and about 20 minutes. Kamari, the closest resort, is 6 km, about 10 minutes.
Is there a taxi rank at Santorini Airport?
Yes, outside the terminal, but the island has few taxis and the rank runs dry when flights bunch up. A booked transfer is confirmed in advance at a fixed price and the driver is inside the hall when you land.
Do you track my flight?
Yes. Give the flight number when you book and the driver checks it before leaving. Waiting is free for 60 minutes after the real landing time.
Can I pay the driver in cash?
Online bookings are paid in full when you book, by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, so nothing is handled in the car. Phone bookings are agreed with the dispatcher.
