Santorini port transfers from Athinios ferry port
A private transfer from Athinios port costs from €30 to Fira and €45 to Oia, for the whole car, VAT included, at any hour. The driver meets every ferry, day or night, at the foot of the port road with your name on a sign, and waiting is free for 30 minutes from docking.

How it works
Athinios is the Santorini ferry port, also called the new port, on the west side of the island under the cliff. Every ferry from Piraeus, Crete and the Cyclades docks here, and everyone on board leaves at the same moment through one gate onto one road. Our port transfers are private: one car for your party, one fixed price for the whole car with VAT included, the same at midnight as at midday.
Book with the ferry company and the departure port and the driver follows the crossing. Ferries often run late in summer, so the pickup is tied to the real docking time and the first 30 minutes after docking are free. The driver waits at the foot of the port road, where the crowd leaves the ferry area, with your name on a sign. Ferries are met at every hour of the day and night.
The road out climbs the cliff in tight bends and fills with buses and hire cars for the first minutes after a big ferry unloads. The fixed price does not change with the queue. Once on top, Fira is about 15 minutes from docking, Oia about 25, and the beach resorts on the far side of the island a little longer.
Hotels in Oia, Imerovigli, Firostefani and the pedestrian centre of Fira cannot be reached by car. The driver stops at the closest point the road allows and carries the bags to hotels within a short walk, so give us the hotel name at booking.
For the ferry out, give us the departure time and we set the pickup with the road down and the walk to the ship in mind. Early sailings cost the same as any other run. The saloon takes up to 4 passengers, the van takes 5 to 8, and a minibus carries a group of up to 20 in one vehicle. Online bookings need 12 hours' notice; sooner than that, call or WhatsApp.
Meeting the ferry
Give us the ferry company and the departure port when you book, not only the scheduled time. Ferries often run late in summer and the driver follows the crossing, so a late arrival changes nothing for you. Waiting is free for 30 minutes from the moment the ship docks, which covers the walk down the ramp and out of the ferry area.
The driver stands at the foot of the port road, where the crowd leaves the ferry area, with a sign showing the name from your booking. Look for the sign before you look for a car; the car itself is parked a short walk away.
The road up from the port
Athinios sits at sea level under the cliff, and the only way out is the road that climbs the cliff face in tight bends. When a large ferry unloads, the buses, hire cars and lorries all take that road at once and the first minutes are slow. A booked car costs the same however long the climb takes: the price is fixed per route, not per minute in the queue.
From the top of the cliff the road meets the main island roads. Fira is about 15 minutes from docking on a normal day, Oia about 25, Kamari about 15 and Perissa about 15.
Getting to the port for a ferry
For the ferry out, tell us the departure time and the ferry company and we set the pickup so you are at the port before boarding starts, with the road down in mind. Early sailings are booked the day before like any other pickup and cost the same as a midday run. The driver drops you at the closest point to the ferry area a car can stop and you walk the last stretch to the ship.

Questions
Where exactly does the driver wait at Athinios port?
At the foot of the port road, where passengers walk out of the ferry area, holding a sign with the name from your booking. The car itself is parked a short walk away, so look for the sign first.
My ferry is running late. Does the price change?
No. The driver follows the crossing and comes for the real docking time, and the first 30 minutes after docking are free. The price is fixed per route and per car, and the same at night, so a delay costs you nothing extra.
Is Athinios the same as the Santorini ferry port?
Yes. Athinios is the port where every ferry docks, and people also call it the new port or simply the Santorini port. It is not the old port below Fira, which only takes cruise-ship tenders and small boats.
Is there a bus from the port instead?
There is a bus up to Fira and from Fira you change for Oia, the beaches or anywhere else. With luggage and a hotel in a pedestrian lane, a car that goes straight to the closest point the road allows saves the change and the wait, and the price is for the whole car.
Is the price per person or per car?
Per car, VAT included. €30 to Fira covers up to 4 passengers with their luggage in the saloon. From the fifth passenger the van takes over at €40, and 9 to 20 people travel together in the minibus for €65.
